How Does Child Behavioral Disorder Evaluation Work?

The Process At A Better Day Psych

Psychiatry for youth and child behavioral disorders, like Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), will always begin with a comprehensive mental health evaluation that is typically 1 hour in length.

We offer child psychiatry in person or via telehealth appointment.

Follow-up Care: Pediatric Medication Management and Therapy

Following the evaluation, you may not opt to proceed with medication management or therapy. However, if medication is prescribed, regular monitoring and follow-up are crucial aspects of medication management. In these subsequent sessions, your healthcare provider will assess the medication’s efficacy, inquire about any potential side effects, adjust dosages as needed, and address any concerns or questions you may have. Appointments are typically 15-30 minutes depending on the complexity.

Most people typically benefit from a multi-faceted mental health approach, which includes therapy. We offer individual therapy, family therapy, and more specialized therapies.
